Founder
Michael Fuchs
Owner of Fox Computers in Sissach. He has been in the blockchain industry since 2016 – first out of curiosity, then professionally, including projects for The Sandbox.
At Watanabe Finance he brings both together: understanding the technology and explaining it so that you can decide for yourself. No jargon, no buy recommendations.
A short detour
Who is Mrs. Watanabe?
Not a single person but a community: retail investors from Japan who showed that anyone can help shape the market.

The roots
Japan is recovering from the ruins of the Second World War. The rise of the yen and the liberalisation of the financial markets open a new era of investment.
- 1980s
The boom
In years of great prosperity and a rising Nikkei, housewives begin investing their families’ hard-earned money in the financial markets. An unconventional step becomes a collective movement – the “Mrs. Watanabe”, often pictured as traders in kimonos.

The bubble bursts
When the economic bubble bursts, the Mrs. Watanabe don’t sit idle. They refine their strategies and shift their focus to the currency market – until the world takes notice.

Global
With the internet, their influence goes global. Their trading behaviour serves as a barometer of market sentiment and moves exchange rates worldwide.

To this day the name is more than a nickname: it stands for the power of the retail investor – and reminds us that big banks aren’t the only ones who set the rules.
